This charming village house is located in the popular Lecrin Valley village of Melegis. Local amenities, great access and beautiful surroundings make this a popular area and the house does not disappoint – ready for immediate occupation, the house has been beautifully renovated and cared for by the current owners. This mix of comfort, modern convenience and lots of traditional Andalucian charm make this the ideal home from which to enjoy the best of Lecrin and Granada.
The house itself is laid out across three floors and has a degree of flexibility in terms of how the space is used. The outside space is just as important and with two patio spaces, one with a plunge pool, plus a roof terrace this house really does offer everything to enjoy life in Spain. The whole house is ready to move into and being located on urban land, offers a stress free purchase and future life.
The layout of the house and outside spaces…
The property is entered from the street but this traditional façade belies the interesting property behind – an entrance patio means the house is set back from the road and provides additional peace and security.
You enter the house into a reception room which doubles as a study or home office. This in turn leads into a hallway with guest WC and this leads into the large l-shaped living room. This is a light and bright space with a wood burning stove and full width doors opening onto the rear courtyard terrace. The original beamed ceiling has been retained to provide much character but the space is bright and spacious.
A door leads into a well fitted kitchen with plenty of wall and base level storage units and all the usual appliances including separate ovens, dishwasher, full height fridge and freezer and a comfort level gas grill – perfect for enthusiastic cooks! The work surfaces are granite and there is a small breakfast bar for ease.
Separate dining room – this is connected to the main living room with double glass doors providing light and yet you can close this space off easily when wanted.
On the first floor there is a spacious landing with access to two double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a third double bedroom and a family bathroom. The master bedroom has a beamed ceiling and a balcony overlooking the rear courtyard garden. The second double bedroom also benefits from an en-suite bathroom and its own private terrace.
Stairs rise up from the landing to the second floor where the fourth bedroom is located. However, this space is also perfect for use as a hobby room and has access to the roof terrace and a useful storage/utility room off it which houses the washing machine and water tank.
The house benefits from 9ft cielings in many areas which ensures a bright and spacious feel and no problem for taller people!
Outside space…
This is vital in Spain and this lovely home has plenty… the entrance patio creates a feeling of Andalucian charm as soon as you step in from the street.
The rear courtyard garden is larger with lots of space to relax and dine alfresco or do some sunbathing. The courtyard also comes with flower beds and a plunge pool – ideal for cooling off during the heat of summer. There is also a door out from the courtyard garden to the street behind which makes life easier for deliveries or gardening.
A brick built store in the courtyard houses the pool pump, and a separate wooden shed for tools and log storage.
The second floor roof terrace is another bit of outside space from which to enjoy the views and provide the ideal space for a cup of coffee if using this room as a hobby space.
This special home has so much going for it but here are our pick of the bunch…
♦ 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with flexibility of use

♦ Courtyard garden, entrance patio and roof terrace
♦ Plunge pool in the courtyard garden
♦ Great location close to local amenities and beautiful countryside

Melegis and the Lecrin Valley
Melegís is one of the most popular villages of the Lecrín valley, partly because it is on the level as opposed to being on a steep hill but also because of its beautiful scenery and accessibility. Within 400m is the popular Los Naranjos Hotel and restaurant, a great place to enjoy a “menu del dia” or a cool drink on the terrace with some of the best views of the Lecrin Valley.
The village has a thriving “Casa Cultura” which offers residents a wide range of services including a gym, library, meeting rooms and the local doctor’s surgery. Granada is well served by hospitals and Durcal (6km) has a larger medical centre which deals with minor issues and x-rays etc.
The village benefits from a sports hall, a bank and a very fine church dating back to the 16th Century.
The Lecrin Valley is well known for its beauty but is also a thriving agricultural community producing oranges, lemons, almonds, walnuts, tomatoes – almost anything grows here! The valley comprises 7 or 8 smaller villages and there are various tracks leading to other villages within the valley.
One of the reasons this area has become so popular with all nationalities is the ease of access to Granada city (half an hour) home to the famous Alhambra Palace and in the other direction, you can be on the beaches of the Costa Tropical in the same time.
This property is a Townhouse for sale.
